How to save power with laptop battery power settings (vista, aero, running programs, etc..)?
Im wondering whats the best way to save battery power. If I turn off my monitor does aero settings being on still suck more power from my battery. Also does turning off programs save power as well (like sidebar for example). I usually turn off my bluetooth and wifi when not in use to save power and have monitor set to turn off after a few minutes of inactivity.
power is used mostly when something is running, IE harddrive, monitor, fan. so anything that reduces these things will help.
memory usage should make to much of a difference but if that process is using CPU usage or writing to the hard drive then it's using power.
i recommend turning off as much as possible when on battery.
for that matter i recommend dialing any program or feature you don't NEED. as that stuff slows the system down.
